I forgot to post this last week, when I actually made the video, but I'll go ahead and post it this week. I'm a little embarrassed by the way I look/sound, but it's a contribution to a project, and I figure if I spread the word, more people might participate. Since I have a mediocre readership (but varied and across the world), I figure we could get a lot of accents in there. Have at it! Make your own! It's never too late! Here's mine!
Deuces, yo
Remember, I'm really sensitive right now. Please try to be (at least kind of) nice. Comments are welcome (and appreciated!) xoxo

Wow, you've lived in a lot of awesome places! Is your family military?
And you sound like I sound. Kind of a midwesterny accent? I dunno, I'm of the opinion that I don't really have an accent but every so often I catch myself saying fer instead of for.... like, "Are you going to go fer coffee?" But not real hillbilly. I don't know how to explain it.
A disclaimer I should have made in the vlog- No, my family is not military, never has been. My dad is in construction, and when they finish a project in one place, they send him somewhere else. This most recent project is projected to last a while, so we've actually been able to stay here.
Had it not been for his willingness to commute, we probably would have lived in Ft. Polk, Louisiana, and Ft. Sill, Oklahoma as well. Instead, for several years, he traveled between Killeen and these towns, staying there during the week and visiting home on the weekends. It was rough, but it was how we made it through for a while without having to move.
I guess they figured we had already moved enough, but then they went ahead and uprooted us in high school, figuring a 2 hour move wouldn't be so bad, but it was hard on me mostly. The rest of the family says I should just accept it and move on, but I think that, had it been at an easier time in my life, it probably would have been easier to "accept and move on." Instead, it was in the middle of high school.
Alas, that was 9 years ago as of July 4th. I still haven't adjusted or made any friends up here in this area. I look forward to a day when I can find a place to make my own niche. Of course, now I have UTA tethering me to the metroplex, because if I stay and finish my masters' degree, I can reduce the course load from 61 to 38 hours- amazing! So I don't want to go too far yet. I'd like to find a place where I can build my own life now, though....
