Things I know

Things I know will be very simple this week.

  • Not having a schedule is very annoying
  • I need a life
  • I also need a job and money
  • Being a social worker is expensive even though they don't get paid much
  • In order to have something to write about, you have to do stuff. =/

Write about something outside your immediate life, but important to you, or even unimportant if you can get the words flowing. People love to read people stories. How about your clients, with disguised names and details of course?

Somebody once said the three kinds of books that can't fail are about Lincoln or a doctor or a dog, and "Lincoln's Doctor's Dog" is a sure winner! Did Lincoln have a personal physician? I know he was prescribed "blue mass" a lot, like everybody else. If the doctor had a dog, what kind would it be? What was popular in that era? Would he get the run of the White House? Would Lincoln's little boys play with him? Would he bite an office-seeker?

There were some instances of people starving in the Civil War during sieges and such, but I can't remember whether they ate dogs. I wonder if dogs are good to eat. About like bear, I reckon, except without the worry of trichinosis. Bear grease used to be a pharmaceutical. Seems like lard would do as well, and be a lot easier to get. Vaseline yanked the market out from under it in the 1870s.

One of these days I'm going to try making pemmican, but not out of dogs or bears or even pigs. Beef, I think, would be the way to go, if you can't get buffalo meat. For authenticity, you should wear a deerskin dress while making it. That would probably get pretty sweaty. I wonder how far the Mexican Indians traded cotton cloth.

Stream of consciousness - jump right in!

Hang in the Ashely, tomorrow is always a new day. With the start of the new month it is the perfect time to start a schedule and organise stuff. I am sure it will all fall into place shortly. Fairy wishes and butterfly kisses to you

Hi Ashley, I am SUper Sunday stalking you! I am impressed with how you can write a short post! My husband won't read mine because they are too long! Either way...Happy October 1st and believe me you can write about your amusing job interviews or lack thereof...I have! I have been out of work since June! Inspiration is everywhere. Chin up!
I too, am broke, and worse...old! Yet my ability to be amused (between outbursts of anger) by myself, keep me going. Stop by, Dawn @ Beneath The Surface: Breath of Faith

I can understand everything you are saying! I need money too. Everything is expensive these days, its hard to even survive.

I think I might need a life too!
