Almost Wordless Wednesday

Mom's Birthday was this week. Half eaten cheesecake. Yum!

This is what lots of candles look like. Actually, there were only 12...

This is what today's resumé looks like. Well, before printing.

Some slightly helpful materials. They don't write the resumé though...

This is what I consider a break. Oh, and I heard something about book week.

I'm a bit partial to this shelf

These aren't all of them. This is only a partial view- I couldn't get all of them. There are alsostill some in boxes, as well as some in the attic...many boxes. I don't know if I'll be able to fit them all, actually...I have books elsewhere also....*bookaholic...guilty!*

(Kind of) Wordless Wednesday

Another random version

My *charming* socks (hehe)

Braided my hair. This is the best photo I could get. I was tired.

The Droid eats the Apple. Hahaha.

Organised *some* of my shoes....

But what do I do with the rest of them???

Diet Coke float before dinner. Mmmm.

Ashley or Not Ashley, take your pick.

Tomorrow. It's also my mom's birthday.

Not quite as funny when the state is on fire.

As promised, the medal board. I have a few. They're all from high school.... :(

Wordless Wednesday- Artsy

This week, for Not-so-wordy Wednesday, I decided to get a little artsy, and show some of the artwork that I did when I was younger (middle/high school); by no means is this an exhaustive list, just the ones I felt confident enough to share (tagged- self-esteem). I just wish I could still be this artistic!! I also added a picture of me in the bluebonnets...just because Texas didn't get many this year, they're my favorite flower, and I miss them.

I did about a billion of these, I only took a picture of this one.

I did this in my spare time in art class because I finished the below project early

This one almost won an art contest in high school...no joke!

For some reason, I get a lot of comments on this one....

I wished I had taken this one to contest instead...I actually like it better...

This is a completely random one I did in my spare time when we first moved here

This one was a requirement for class

This one I did because I wanted a black & white version of the one I did in class.

I absolutely love bluebonnets. It's a shame we only get them ~1 month out of the year. Circa April 2010

Wordless Wednesday- Dry, Dry Texas

Another not-so-wordless Wednesday, but there are fewer words. More pics.

I know I've been talking a lot this summer about heat & the lack of rain- our water is at an all time low. I'll let the pictures do some talking.

The trees may look green....

But look at the color of the grass

You can see the level where the lake used to be, and where it is now, from the lack of water
More evidence of low lake levels (fountain to the side, couldn't be avoided)

It's like that all the way around; this is not quite a small lake

A picture of the fountain from the pier- just for kicks and giggles
Texas needs some water. Of course, at this time, it will take a lot to build up reservoirs and whatnot, and the amount would probably cause flash flooding. Right now we're having fires. The cool off would be nice too, we'll be in the 90s next week hopefully. Let's hope some hurricanes fling rain our way. I quoted on Twitter, from the Fort Worth Star-Telegram online, "It's pretty bad when people are praying for a hurricane." (See the article here).

Off for a surprise visit to the dentist. Huzzah!! (or...yikes...actually...)

Wordless Wednesday- Recarpeting

As we know, Wordless Wednesday is never completely wordless, but much less wordy.

Follow me through the halls of our house- the hallway to my brother's room

The rest of the hallway, which leads to my room (where the open door is)
My room from the entrance: with all its current contents. Bed, TV tray, alarm clock, laptop, drink. Wall dressings are ok, because they don't need to climb the walls to install carpet.

My brother's old room...he now lives in an apartment. There's a steam cleaner in there.

The other half of my room from the bathroom door (closet door shown)

View of my room from closet door (entrance to right, bathroom to left)

Not pictured- my window seat. It's the only place where there's stuff, mostly pillows & the inside of my closet- clothes are hanging (oh my!), but it is getting new carpet too. Now we just wait for carpet.

Huzzah!

Wordless Wednesday

Is never completely wordless...
On TV, sock monkey can drive. I made my dad rewind the DVR so I could take pictures of sock monkey driving. Surfing too.

This is not from TV, or sock monkey's car, this is a reading from a vehicle in Texas. A sign that we need winter (or something other than summer)...for those reading Celsius, that's 49.4C. No joke.

Day before my final final (which I rocked- 95%!! I got an A in psychology...HUZZAH!)...Above my shoulder, the shelf that recently attacked me.

Picture from yesteryear. Graduation 2005 (High school)

Inspiration

Beautiful Butterfly I have hanging on my wall. Originally an ornament, but bigger than my mini-tree.

This is how I got through to where I am today. Perseverance...and there certainly is a lot of glory in overcoming great obstacles. You better believe it.
